The washed and dried cloth was then cut into shape by Asoka Inc. in Ayyampalayam, Tamil Nadu, India. Asoka first cut the fabric into the panels needed for the T-shirt, following precise patterns to ensure accuracy and consistency in the final garment. Once the panels were cut, they were prepared for printing. The project T-shirt was printed using silkscreen printing, a method known for producing high-quality, long-lasting images with excellent color accuracy and consistency.

Silkscreen printing involves creating a separate screen for each color in the design. The screen is coated with a light-sensitive emulsion, which is then exposed to light to transfer the design, hardening the emulsion in the areas not covered by the design. The screen is then placed over the fabric, and ink is applied to transfer the design, resulting in vibrant and durable prints. After printing, the fabric was dried and cured to set the ink, ensuring the prints would be long-lasting and wash-resistant. This method allowed for the intricate, multi-colored designs co-created by Jaswantee, Alisetty, Rasigapriya and Larissa to be printed sharply and vividly.
After printing, the fabric panels were sent to Asoka Inc.’s stitching team, who stitched the panels together, carefully aligning each piece to ensure a well-constructed final product. During assembly, essential labels were attached, including a QR label on the sleeve that links to a web-based app providing product information and tracking. We also added wash care labels with care instructions. Each T-shirt underwent a final quality check to ensure it met high standards of craftsmanship and durability. Once approved, the T-shirts were neatly packaged and prepared for shipping. Throughout the entire process, from cutting panels to the final stitching, Asoka maintained a strong commitment to quality and sustainability, ensuring that every garment reflects our values of environmental and social responsibility.
